Two keen Harley owners got together Easter 2008 in National Park Village, they decided that one annual Rally event each year where you can catch up with other hog riders over a weekend could do with a 100% increase.
The Goat is an exhilarating adventure run from Whakapapa to Turoa Ski Fields on the Round the Mountain track, traversing the western slopes of Mount Ruapehu. The 21 kilometre course has over 1000 metres of vertical ascent and covers a whole bunch of amazing terrain.

4x4 National Park - National Park - 3 - 5 March 2012
The Department on Conservation have granted the 4x4 National Park event exclusive 4x4 access to a part Tongariro Forest as their contribution, with Landcorp Farms also allowing use of their properties. The daily trips will be across farmland and bush trails, with views across to the mountains (if it's fine). Both days will be similar butnot the same and the Sunday trip will be a little shorter to allow time for people to travel home.
These events are not intended to be tough, but offer the ability to drive lands that are not available at other times and the intent is for a sociable weekend of four wheeling. There are some sections that will require some 4wd driving skills. With the close proximity of the 42nd Traverse 4x4 route, participants often take the opportunity to experience that on the Sunday afternoon, especially those heading north to home.
